China to Resume Communications Satellite Launches in October

According to Sina Tech, China's SINO Satellite, a state-owned telecommunications satellite operator with its headquarters located in Beijing, will launch a large-capacity communications satellite, known as Xinnuo 2, in late October. The new satellite, with an expected lifespan of 15 years, has been approved by China's COSTIND (Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense) on August 4, and is scheduled to deliver TV broadcasting, mobile communications, and other services for China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
